Stuart is an active member of the Brighton and Hove Jewish community and previously worked as CEO for Mitzvah Day, the UK’s largest faith-led day of social action. This Jewish-led initiative brings together people of all faiths and backgrounds, to volunteer side-by-side, building longstanding, genuine relationships. Stuart has a wealth of experience in politics, media and social enterprise, in both the UK and South Africa.

Vice Chair Brighton Muslim Forum

Sabri is Vice Chair of the Brighton & Hove Muslim Forum a non-profit organisation hoping to serve the religious, social, and cultural needs of the Brighton & Hove Muslim Community. BHMF’s primary aim is to provide support and weekend activities for Muslim children and to work and assist with projects for Muslim women.

Robert is involved in many social initiatives, working for a local authority and an active member of both faith and LGBTQIA+ communities.

Rabbi Dr Andrea Zanardo

Brighton and Hove Reform Synagogue

Rabbi Dr Andrea Zanardo was one of the founders of the first Reform Congregation in Italy in the 1990s. Right from an early age he took great pleasure in synagogue life and as a result he decided to make it his vocation. Therefore he began the journey from University lecturer in Social History to Rabbi.

Rik has experience of a wide range of Christian expression having lived and worked in a L’Arche Community (Roman Catholic) alongside people with a learning disability, leading a college Christian union worshiping in many different denominations.

Mr Steve Horne

Emmanuel Church, Brighton & Hove

Steve’s background is in paediatric nursing and he trained at Great Ormond Street working specifically in neurology. Steve later moved to Brighton in 1996, working with disabled and ventilated young people, helping them to access education and independent living. Steve is married with four children.

Dr Claire Ashenden

St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church

Claire is a member of St. Joseph’s RC Church and has pursued her interest in religion and interfaith relations through a long career in teaching, both in Sussex and more recently teaching philosophy in Peru. She has an M Phil in Jewish/Christian relations and exegesis in 3rd century Caesarea and has worked as an RE adviser for Brighton & Hove whilst working as a researcher at Brighton University.

Tim oversees the projects and activities of BHFA, organising events, facilitating the monthly Faith Council meeting and communications.
