The BHFA trustees were thrilled to receive a great LGBTQ+ literacy session delivered by Jack from Switchboard, one of Brighton’s oldest advocacy and support groups for these communities.

The session was lively and interactive and paves the way for further collaborations. Conversations around education and communications between faith communities and the groups represented by Switchboard were to the fore and the trustees were in agreement with the need for ongoing engagement and understanding.

The trustees discussed the 2019 report ’LGBTQI+ People of Faith: Prejudice and Community Cohesion in Brighton and Hove’ on which our groups had collaborated in the past and expressed willingness to revisit projects like these in the future as well as joining hands on protective initiatives such as the Upstanders Network.
