Bespoke training event: Mental Health Awareness for Faith Groups

April 05, 2017

The Mental Health and Faith survey we conducted in January, where almost all the different faith traditions in the city engaged resulting in an overall 60% response rate.

This data has been incredibly useful for us as we, in partnership with Mind in Brighton and Hove, have designed a bespoke Mental Health Awareness for Faith Groups training event based on the feedback you gave.

We are pleased to announce the details below:

Training event details

The training event is organised by the BHFA Mental Health Faith Partnership and our partners Mind, who specialise in delivering training on mental health awareness. The half-day training event covers the areas of interest that emerged from the survey data.

Key learning Outcomes:

· What is Mental Health?

· Considering stigma and its effects

· Types of mental illness and symptoms

· How to recognise the signs

· How to respond/help

· Treatment and support available

· Local services available

· Risk and safeguarding

· Looking after yourself including the 5 ways to wellbeing

Booking your place

Rather than set-up an Eventbrite page which adds unnecessary complexity and fees, we’ve opted for a low-tech option for booking. As places are limited we are charging a modest fee of £10 to encourage attendance. We will use these funds to further the aims and objectives of the Mental Health Faith Partnership.
