Faithaction - What Matters to Us report

September 10, 2024

A new report on the concerns of citizens from the faith communities has been released by Faithaction, the organisation with central responsiblity for the Faith Covenant.

FaithAction, a UK-based charity and network supporting faith-based organizations, conducted a comprehensive six-week survey campaign titled "What Matters To Us" in the lead-up to the 2024 UK General Election. The campaign, which drew responses from over a thousand of its members and partners, sought to identify the most pressing issues facing faith communities today. Key findings revealed deep concerns over health and social care, the cost of living, education, and community safety. Participants also expressed strong desires for more collaborative partnerships between faith groups and public services, particularly in areas like health, social justice, and economic support. The campaign highlights the essential role of faith-based organizations in addressing some of the UK’s most urgent social challenges.

Health and Economic Concerns Top the List in FaithAction’s 2024 Survey

The "What Matters To Us" survey by FaithAction captured the priorities of multi-faith communities across the UK ahead of the 2024 General Election. Health and social care emerged as the most critical issue, reflecting widespread concern about the state of the NHS and access to care. Economic pressures, including the cost of living and housing affordability, were also major themes, with respondents advocating for greater government action to alleviate financial strain on vulnerable populations. The survey further revealed a call for enhanced faith-literacy training and more robust partnerships between faith groups and public institutions to better support marginalized communities. The findings underscore the pivotal role that faith organizations play in promoting social cohesion and supporting those in need.
