BHFA Joins Dialogue Society for Inspiring Iftar in Brighton

On Sunday, March 23, 2025, Brighton & Hove Faith in Action (BHFA) representatives attended the Dialogue Society’s Ramadan Iftar Dinner at The Grand Brighton. The event, themed "Voices in Unity," brought together diverse community members to celebrate unity and diversity during Ramadan.

BHFA’s delegation included Projects Coordinator Tim Jones, Chair of Trustees Stuart Diamond, and Trustee Sabri ben Ameur. The evening featured speeches from MP Sian Berry, Head of Brighton and Hove City Council Bella Sankey, and Interfaith Contact Group leader Anthea Ballam.

In his address, Stuart Diamond emphasized the significance of interfaith dialogue and community cohesion. He acknowledged local heroes like Ibrahim Karadol from the Interfaith Contact Group for their efforts in uniting people of all faiths. Stuart highlighted Brighton as a "city of warmth, a city of welcome, a city of care," advocating for continued dialogue within religious communities. He also called on political leaders to support initiatives that foster interfaith understanding, noting the loss of funding for the Interfaith Network.

Expressing gratitude to the Muslim community, Diamond recognized their charitable contributions during Ramadan, encouraging all faiths to engage in acts of kindness and unity.
